How we look after the information you share with us.
Who we are
Show Up Sis is a women’s community and events business based in Birmingham, UK. We’re responsible for the personal information you share with us through this website, our events and our community channels.

What we collect
We only collect what we need:
- Contact and partnership enquiries: your name, email address, the topic you choose and your message. For partnership enquiries, also your brand name.
- Newsletter sign-ups: your email address and your consent to receive our newsletter.
- Bookings: when you book an event through FIXR or our website, we receive the details needed to run your booking, such as your name, email address and ticket information.
- Our WhatsApp community: if you join, your name and phone number will be visible to other members of the group.
- Health and emergency information: for some experiences, we may ask for emergency contact details and any health information we need to know to keep you safe.
How we use it
- To reply to your questions and partnership enquiries.
- To send our Monday newsletter, if you’ve signed up.
- To manage your booking and contact you about an event you’re attending, including any changes to the plan.
- To keep our community and events running safely.
We never sell your information.
Our legal reasons for using it
- Consent for our newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
- Contract when we need your details to provide an event you’ve booked.
- Legitimate interests when we reply to enquiries and run our community, in ways you’d reasonably expect.
- Your explicit consent for any health information you share with us.
Health and emergency information
Any health or emergency contact information you give us is only shared with the Show Up Sis team working at your event. We only use it to look after you on the day, and we don’t share it with anyone else.
Photos and video at our events
We sometimes take photos and film at our events and share them on our website, social media and newsletter. If you’d rather not be photographed or filmed, just let a member of our team know on the day.
Who we share it with
We use trusted services to run Show Up Sis, and they handle your information on our behalf or under their own privacy policies:
- Wix hosts this website and stores our form submissions, contacts and newsletter list.
- FIXR handles ticket bookings and payments for many of our events.
- WhatsApp, owned by Meta, runs our community group.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces on this website, which means your browser connects to Google when a page loads.
Some of these services may store information outside the UK. Where they do, they use the legal safeguards required under UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to deal with your request and any follow-up. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Booking information is kept for as long as we need it for the event and our business records. When we no longer need your information, we delete it.
Cookies
Our website is hosted by Wix, which may use cookies and similar technology that the site needs to work securely. Our forms also store a small piece of information in your browser so they can send your message. We don’t use cookies to show you adverts.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it or limit how we use it. You can also object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent at any time. Email hello@showupsis.co.uk and we’ll respond within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
