Hikes

The heartbeat of Show Up Sis. A chance to explore somewhere new, challenge yourself and experience it together.

Fresh air, good company, a proper view at the top.

Our monthly hikes are a chance to get outside, explore somewhere new and do something for yourself. We sort the route, the hike leads and the meeting points, so you can focus on the experience.

A route chosen for you

Routes across the Peak District, Wales and beyond, picked for the view as much as the walk.

Led, not raced

That feeling afterwards

Tired legs, a clearer head and something to feel proud of. You’ve shown up for yourself, challenged yourself and spent the day with women you might never have met otherwise.

Who it’s for

For women who want to step outside their comfort zone, challenge themselves and see somewhere new. A chance to get out in nature, switch off from everyday distractions and connect with other women along the way.

You don’t need to already think of yourself as a hiker. Regular walking and movement are a good starting point. Each hike is different, so check the route details and level to find one that suits your fitness and experience.

You’re welcome to come on your own, plenty of the girls do.

Find your level

Some days are about getting outside and finding your feet. Others involve a bigger challenge. We’ll explain the level of each hike alongside its distance, expected duration and terrain so you know what you’re signing up for.

Easy

Gentler routes with mostly flat ground or gradual slopes. A good starting point if you’re building confidence with longer walks.

Moderate

Routes with hills and uneven ground, including some sustained uphill sections. Suited to women who walk regularly and feel comfortable being active for several hours.

Challenging

Routes with steeper climbs, rougher terrain and longer uphill sections. You’ll need good fitness and confidence walking on uneven ground. Previous hill-walking experience is recommended.

Strenuous

Our most demanding hikes, with significant ascent, steep climbs and long days on your feet. Best suited to experienced hikers with strong fitness who are comfortable with sustained physical effort.

The level is a guide. Always read the details for the individual hike before booking.

What to expect on the day

Before the hike, we’ll share the meeting details and what you need to bring.

Once everyone has arrived, we’ll introduce the hike leads and talk through the route and safety information. There’ll be a lead at the front and another at the back, with breaks along the way to catch your breath, eat and enjoy the views.
