Our standards

Our hike team

Our hikes have a lead at the front, a lead at the back and team members throughout the group. Our founder, Chanel, is outdoor first aid qualified, and we brief the team on the route, their roles and emergency procedures before each hike.

Routes checked

Every route is walked or reviewed beforehand. We monitor the forecast and conditions, adapting the route or changing plans when needed.

Insured and planned

Our events are insured, with risk assessments and emergency procedures in place. We plan each experience with the route, activities and group in mind.

Levels, explained

Each hike shows its level alongside distance, duration and terrain. The level is a guide. Always read the details for the individual hike before booking.

  • Easy

Gentler routes with mostly flat ground or gradual slopes. A good starting point if you’re building confidence with longer walks.

  • Moderate

Routes with hills and uneven ground, including some sustained uphill sections. Suited to women who walk regularly and feel comfortable being active for several hours.

  • Challenging

Routes with steeper climbs, rougher terrain and longer uphill sections. You’ll need good fitness and confidence walking on uneven ground. Previous hill-walking experience is recommended.

  • Strenuous

Our most demanding hikes, with significant ascent, steep climbs and long days on your feet. Best suited to experienced hikers with strong fitness who are comfortable with sustained physical effort.

The basic kit
